CALEDONIA—On August 27, 2025 at approximately 1:40 p.m., members of the Haldimand Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad, conducted a traffic stop on Lilac Circle, Caledonia.
The driver was identified as an individual who was wanted on outstanding warrants and subsequently taken into custody. Further investigation determined the vehicle had been reported stolen and, as a result, the passenger was also taken into custody. A quantity of illicit drugs, Canadian currency, and the vehicle was seized.
A 47-year-old of Caledonia has been charged with:
Possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code (five counts)
A 37-year-old of Caledonia was charged with possession of the proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both of the accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on October 7, 2025. None of the charges have been proven in court.
