Peacefully at Anson Place Care Centre, Hagersville, on Monday, August 18, 2025.  Greg Udell, husband of the late Carole nee Glover (2015) and loving partner of Gale Meyers, in his 86th year. Dear son of Rose (nee Lockhart) and the late Goldie Udell.  Beloved father of Bob (June) Udell, the late Brian Udell (1983), Brad (Linda) Udell and Bev (Dwayne) Pankhurst.  Loving Poppa of Brandon (Kelly) Udell, Marion Stoner, Leonard (Angela Gillap) Stoner, Alyssa Pankhurst (Eli Kiriakopoulos) and Hailey (Nathan) Brandow. Loving Great Poppa U of Addison, Boden, Jasmine, Evelyn, Ivy, Kathleen, Nigel, Lawrence, Rosalee and Keegan.  Brother of the late Roger Udell, Anne Sloan, Winnie (the late Hans) Dietrich and Ted (Jane) Udell. Sadly missed by Gale’s children Gerard (Elaine) Meyers and Amanda (Kevin) Weaver and their families.  Greg was a proud crane operator and a professional driver, working for Collingwood Shipyard running the Cobie Crane for many years and then at Hagersville (Laurie’s) Recycling until his retirement. Peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville in her 74th year. Predeceased by her parents John and Beatrice Cook. Survived by her partner Stan Atkinson, her children Kerri (Justin), Kris (Jen), Scott (Claudia), and Brody (Shannon). Cherished grandma to her grandchildren Jess (Danny) and Maddy (Austin) and great-grand daughters Anna, Claire and Kate. Jan was loved by so many nieces and nephews, adopted family members, special friends, work friends and Legion friends. Jan lived her life with a loud and contagious laugh a gigantic smile with her heart wide open. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service has been held. Malcolm McVicar passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, in his 83rd year. Born in Windham Centre, Ontario, to Edna and Jake McVicar, Malcolm will be fondly remembered for his kindness, unwavering loyalty, and the many heartfelt phone calls that kept him closely connected to his friends throughout the years. He is lovingly survived by his first wife and lifelong friend, Marnie Cunningham, and their children: Lidy (Steve Romanuk), Michael (Becky Kellam), James (Cristina Imgrund), Robyn (Jordan Edl), and Lee-Anne (David Creery). Malcolm was a proud grandfather to Campbell (Brittney), Logan McVicar, Roan, Ashton, Logan McKenzie, Brock, Lucy, and great-grandfather to Blakely. Malcolm will be dearly missed by his siblings Sharen Collins and Robert McVicar (Ellie Peters). Malcolm spent many years behind the wheel as a truck driver for Bruce R. Smith Ltd. and Pride Group Logistics, a career he cherished and continued until his retirement on his 80th birthday. To honour Malcolm’s life, an open house will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 1 –  3 p.m. at the Caledonia Lions Community Centre (100 Haddington Street, Caledonia, ON). Family and friends are warmly invited to join in celebrating his memory. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate team at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton, whose care ensured Malcolm’s final journey was one of dignity and peace.

October 17, 1954 – August 16, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Roderick Eugene Sullivan. Left with beautiful memories are his wife, Diane (nee Doughty) and his three boys: Corey (Matthew), Joshua (Brittany), and Braden (Audrey). Rod was a proud Papa of his six grandchildren: Joel, Colton, Brooklyn, Mila, Zachary and Sadie. Predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Leo, he will be missed by his sisters Pam and Trish (Paul) as well as Diane’s siblings: Dave (Marie), Judy (Pat), Bruce (Barb), Glen (Joanne), Brian (Carol Anne), Kevin (Janice), Don (Gail), Christine (Scott) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loyal staff. June 3, 1942 – August 12, 2025 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marion Lorraine Cherry (Brown) of Garnet / Hagersville and more recently Caledonia. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully to join her late husband, Ralph Gordon Cherry, and our Heavenly Father in Heaven. Marion was a woman of warmth and strength, being very enthusiastic, active, independent and caring. She dedicated her life to her family, the family farm Chericrest Holsteins, Haldimand Holstein Club, Hagersville Figure Skating Club, 4-H, The Haldimand Dairy Princess, Garnet United Church and helping others in the community. Her greatest pride was her grandchildren and great-grandchild nurturing them with love and kindness, instilling in them values of hard work, enthusiasm, and perseverance. Her guidance and steadfast support were the foundation on which her family thrived. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Children/grandchildren Deborah Cherry-Francey of Markham, ON, Branden Francey and Joshua Francey of Kawartha Lakes, ON.; Teresa (Cherry) and Greg Michell, Toby, Adrianne Michell and (Cobi) of Dundas, ON; Craig Cherry, Sam and Ryan Cherry of Hagersville, ON, Trevor and Brenda Cherry, Quinton, Carson and Hayden Cherry. Great-granddaughter Harper. The many extend families members she loved connecting with through the years, and very close friend, spiritual confidant Sherrie Moore. Marion’s life was a testament to assisting others and helping the Agriculture and Local Communities. She loved — family gatherings, heartfelt conversations, years of scouring cemeteries and archives studying her family trees. Fondly remembering her involvement with Garnet United Church. She enjoyed her earlier years helping with Hagersville Figure Skating Club, Haldimand Holstein Club, Walpole Dairy 4-H Club and the Caledonia Fair. Including many years ago helping host the Hewitts Ice Cream Booth at the Caledonia Antique Show. More recently assisting neighbors and friends to appointments and trips to Six Nations bingo where she loved making many new friends and even the occasional win ;).  She loved helping others and sharing get togethers over lunch or community happenings. Her laughter could fill a room, and her hugs made especially the grands feel safe and loved. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Marion’s life at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 12, 2025, in her 95th year. Loving mother of John, Sheila (Rod) Williams.  Cherished Bamma of Kevin Sullivan. Predeceased by her husband Ted Barrey,  her stepdaughter Diane (Bern) Dobbin, her parents John and Beatrice Newman, her siblings Lorne (Mary), Thomas, Grace (Fred) Carter, Russell (Lillian), Dorothy (Brock) Gains and her in laws Frank and Florence Barrey. Mary will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews †Bill Gains, †Doug (†Frances) Gains,  Anne (Paul) Miron, †Brock (Tina) Gains, †Michael (Nancy) Newman, Christine Newman, Kevin (Fayetta) Newman and their families. Mary was the youngest daughter of John and Beatrice Newman.  She grew up on the family farm on King’s Row just outside of Dunnville.  She went to a one classroom schoolhouse for her primary education, and then to Dunnville Secondary School. Mary took commercial classes in high school, and then she worked for several years doing payroll in the Fabrics office prior to having her children. In later years Mary worked at Essex Wire and Bick’s Pickles. Mary’s faith was very important to her. She was a devote Roman Catholic, and a member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years. Mary married Ted Barrey on September 24, 1960, and became a stepmother to Diane.  The following year they welcomed their son, John. Three years later their daughter, Sheila, was born. A year and a half later, they became grandparents to Kevin.  She was a great Mom and Bamma! Mary enjoyed time at the lake, family get togethers, baking, sewing and bowling.  In her later years, she also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and the Sudoku puzzle in the Spectator. Special thanks to the staff at Maple Grove Place, Doctor Ezzat, Michaela Morton, the Health at Home nurses, especially Ricki, and the staff of Haldimand War Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Anne and Paul Miron, Kathryn and Selina Stengel and Shirley Yzerman for all their support.
