Suddenly and peacefully from her home, the Lord called unto Himself, His beloved child Diane (nee Nykamp) on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in her 86th year.  Diane was the loving wife of Harry for over 60 years.   Peacefully with his partner Jennifer by his side at the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Survived by his mom Jane and predeceased by his father Earl McConachie. Jim is survived by his partner Jennifer. Loving dad to Laura and Beta and Erica and Phil. Cherished grandfather to Kae, Felix, Brianna, and Elizabeth. Survived by his sister Marty (Terry) Dosser and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his siblings Barb and Mark. Jim loved watching his grandchildren’s sports and musical activities, Jim loved kayaking, skiing, horses, quartet singing, and directing choruses. He had a love for good food and wine.  Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2025, from 1 – 4 p.m. in the upstairs hall of Branch #60 of the Royal Canadian Legion, 828 Legion Road, Burlington, Ontario. May 1, 1927 – February 14, 2025 After a long life well lived, Jock passed away peacefully at Cedarwood LTC in Simcoe on February 14, 2025 at the age of 97 with family by his side. Predeceased by his wife Bonnie (2024) of 58 years, father of Michelle (John) and Mark (Sonya), grandfather to Scott (Christina), Evan (Emma), Brooke (Nick), Nate and Tessa. Great-grandfather to Aubrey, Kaysen and Alexandra. Survived by his sister Flora (Ben+) and predeceased by his parents Clement and Maria, siblings Joe (Ruth), Vince (Vi), Mike (Betty) and Lucy (Don). Jock had been retired from CGC for over 35 years after a 40 year long career. Back in the day he was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church, Hagersville Lions Club, H.A.A.A. and volunteer driver for the Cancer Society and Dialysis Association. He enjoyed travelling, cheering on the Blue Jays, puzzles, and was a very talented woodworker, creating many beautiful pieces of furniture that have been passed down throughout the family. All through his life, Jock always put family first and many of the family traditions he started are still held in his honour. The family would like to thank all of the Cedarwood staff for their excellent care and compassion shown to Jock over the last two plus years and are truly thankful for all you did for him. We will honour Jock’s life with visitation on Monday February 17, 2025 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Hyde & Mott Funeral Home Hagersville.  Cremation and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. July 7, 1941 – February 12, 2025 After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Barb passed away peacefully in her 84th year. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Ruth Simington, and daughter Laurie Montague (March 11, 2003). Survived by son Tim Blake (Cheryl). Grandsons Scott MacDonald (Kayla), Jamie Macdonald. Granddaughters Alicia Blake (George Lopes), Briana Adamson (Jake), Kelsie Blake. Also survived by seven Great-Grandchildren. Brother Rob Simington (Jane) and several nieces and nephews. May 17, 1933 – February 9, 2025 Don has peacefully joined his beautiful and kind wife, Joyce. He was a loving father to Ruth (Mike), Barry (Sue), Dave (Barb) and the late Brian Dougherty. Dear Grandpa of Danica (Stefan), Carly (Lorenzo), Megan (Tyler), Bradon, and Sydney. Son of the late Kenneth Dougherty and Evelyn Stewart (Lindsay). The world has lost a good man, great father, fun Grandpa, and a loving husband. Don was born in Simcoe, Norfolk County but he and Joyce married, raised their children and built their home in Fisherville. Dad showed us how to work hard, be kind, and especially to live life to the fullest. His 38 years as a Volunteer Firefighter and then Chief in Fisherville demonstrated to us the importance of caring and giving to community. Dad spent countless hours flooding hockey rinks, coaching various minor sports and was active within the Trinity Lutheran Church all of which made Fisherville a better place for everyone. After retiring from 30 years at Stelco at the age of 62, Don and his beloved Joyce visited every province and state within North America.  Internationally they also travelled to Europe, Ireland, and Mexico. Over their 68 years together, though, their true passion was camping and meeting up with family and friends. Dad had a passion for hockey and the Maple Leafs, ice cream and milkshakes and playing Hoss, his favourite card game. His quick wit and sharp intelligence right to the end made him the favourite partner. His strongest passion was just being a kid at heart and hanging out with his grandchildren. He didn’t just watch their games and recitals, he played, listened and laughed with them. Every trip over the years, upon leaving Fisherville, Mom and Dad played and sang together a special Willie Nelson song.  Dad, Grandpa, and friend to many, we know that “you’re on the road again” and we will all miss you so much. A Funeral Service will be held at Hyde & Mott Chapel, 60 Main St S, Hagersville on February 15, 2025 at 2 p.m. (visitation 1 hour prior to service).  Refreshments to follow.  A private family interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Fisherville.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. www.rhbanderson.com

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley May Caylor, beloved wife of Peter Knox Caylor (2014) for almost 50 years, in her 89th year, in Simcoe, Ontario. Born in Tracadie, New Brunswick, on May 27, 1936, Shirley was the cherished daughter of Henry and Helen Robichaud and the loving sister to Rita, Carole, Jack, and Dorothy. Shirley is lovingly remembered by her devoted children, Chris and Jennifer (Maurice), her grandsons Matthew (Alanna), Émile, Blaise, and Nicolas, and her treasured great-grandchildren Bentley, Scarlett, and Macen.Her journey began in Campleton, N.B. where she earned her teaching degree before embarking on an adventure to teach in Schefferville, Quebec. There, met a dashing anglophone and the love of her life, Peter. Together, they settled in Hagersville, where Shirley continued her career as a special education teacher at St. Mary’s School for over 25 years. Shirley’s love for her students and her remarkable ability to ignite a passion for learning left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, dedication, and enthusiasm will always be remembered by colleagues, parents, and most of all, her students. In her retirement years, Shirley was often found on a beach, at a  restaurant or vineyard, or happily riding shotgun in the Miata as her favorite driver took her on new adventures. She was also an active volunteer at the Hagersville Food Bank and a fierce competitor in Scrabble, where her sharp wit was always on display. Shirley’s legacy of compassion, lifelong learning, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. In the early morning of Sunday February 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, Eric Winger passed away peacefully at the age of 64 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Rosemary Winger (nee Chiaravalle) for 40 years.  Loving father of Justin Winger, Daniel Winger, and Shelby Winger.  Father-in-law of Melissa Winger and Erica Winger. Cherished Papa of Isla, Serena, Matthew, Emma and fur babies Parker and Bailey. Eric will be immensely missed and lovingly remembered by the Winger and Chiaravalle families. Eric was passionately dedicated to his business and his family. He was a provider, a support system, a selfless father and a best friend. The energy that Eric radiated was magnetic. He has impacted so many people throughout his life, whether meeting them one or 100 times, he always left an amazing impression. His memories and legacy will be carried on by his devoted wife and children, who are all so blessed to be guided through this life by Eric’s angel.
