They married in 1960, and shared 56 years together, raising 4 active children in a very busy home that was always warm and welcoming to anyone who showed up calling at the door. In their retirement years, Helen and Jack enjoyed summers on Balsam Lake, travelling, art classes, and an active community life volunteering. Helen was a caregiver at heart and a beautiful soul, and the love she had for people extended beyond her immediate family to everyone that she met. Helen was passionate about cooking wonderful meals and entertaining friends, and will be remembered for the homemade muffins and soup she would drop off to friends who were sick or simply needed their spirits lifted. Helen conquered breast cancer with great courage and strength, and went on to have a long and wonderful life. She will be remembered for her unwavering support of her children and grandchildren, and her kindness as a dear friend to many. The family will be holding a private service.
