STEWART, Carol-Le

November 11, 2023

The “hat, bling, and bird lady” Carol-Le Stewart (Nee Hester) was called home after 64 years to receive her unfading crown of glory on November 9th , 2023 at Stedman’s Community Hospice in Brantford. Predeceased by chosen son Jacob, father Gerald P. Hester, mother Neva Ora (Nee Rose), father-in-law Frederick Stewart, brother Brad, and sister Geri Gossink Randt (Scott). Carol-Le is survived by her devoted and patient husband Mark Stewart of 43 years and her two beautiful (some bias), cherished daughters Colleen Court (Dan) and Cassandra Stewart (James Purdie), and adorable four grandsons (some more bias), Jonah and Elijah Court, and Rupert and Lukas Purdie. Carol-Le is also survived by six siblings, Leonard (Cynthia), Lynn Michael (Faye), Tina Roberts (Harry), twin Cheryl Lyn Fischer (Deane), Vicki Widule (Thomas), and Christopher. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, sister, brother in-laws and extended family. Carol-Le was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 14, 1959, and immigrated to Canada in 1980 to start a new chapter in her life with Mark on February 22, 1980. Carol-Le fulfilled her life-long calling by physically and spiritually helping others from all walks and phases of life: infants, children, classmates, neighbors, those at the end-of- life, many dear friends both near and far, patients, customers, work colleagues, and occasionally the boss. Advocating for the downtrodden was also a special gift which she was not afraid to use unsparingly. She loved being a care provider at Parkview Meadows (Southview) in Townsend and looked after her residents and their families as her own. In her retail years at A&P and as a “superstar” at the Superstore, she became known to many customers because of her stand-out bling, dressing up on holidays (with her hats), cheerful disposition, friendly demeanor, and caring heart. Carol-Le also delighted in caring for God’s creation, especially His birds (except sparrows), her dogs, vast Noah-like array of pets, and numerous plants. Carol-Le was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Simcoe serving in various capacities. She was also involved in many Bible studies over the years at various Churches in Jarvis and Simcoe. She was intent on discovering new ways to fulfil her calling of bringing Glory to God, and helping others to know her Saviour. Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis, Ontario on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. Service of Christian Burial will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fisherville on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11a.m. Interment at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fisherville. In lieu of flowers, consider memorials to Stedman’s Community Hospice in Brantford or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Simcoe. Carol-Le reminds everyone of the Salvation Party in Heaven that Jesus is hosting. He has purchased your ticket, cancelled your debt and paid your fare in full– don’t miss out! CORNEIL, Gregory Scott

November 3, 2023

December 30, 1959 – October 25, 2023 It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Gregory Scott Corneil of Cayuga announce his passing at home on October 25, 2023 in his 64th year, after struggling with health issues for a number of years.  Greg will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife and partner of 35 years Terri (Simmons).  He is survived by a loving family including his brothers Bill (Connie) and Bev (Denise), his nieces and nephews Scott Corneil (Annette), Laurie Andrus (Stephen), Jeremy Corneil (Laura), and  Amy Henton (Andy) and mother-in-law Dee Kuret as well as many extended family.  He is pre-deceased by his father Jack Corneil and mother Jean Nisbett. Greg was born in Exeter, Ontario and spent his early years in Hensall before moving to London where he grew up and attended school.  He and his wife shared a home in Grimsby for many years before moving to their home along the Grand River near Cayuga. Over the years, Greg had the personality and natural charisma to enjoy new friends through his many and varied interests of scuba diving, sailing/boating, baseball, skeet shooting and of course breeding and raising his beloved Vizslas with his wife.  He could talk at length about any of these subjects and always welcomed a lively conversation on any topic. He was a life long reader and active member of the Cayuga Library. Losing his father early in his life, he chose to give back to the next generation of children by volunteering for many years in the 90’s with Big Brothers Association of Burlington and Hamilton – Wentworth (now known as Big Brother Big Sisters of Halton and Hamilton).  During those years of service he was a Big Brother to many young boys, sharing activities, mentoring and developing friendships.  He also served as Chair of the Board of Directors 1996/97. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Big Brother Big Sisters of Halton and Hamilton. At Greg’s request a private cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
