March 18, 1936 – July 17, 2023 Peacefully at home after a short battle with cancer with his family at his side, Alex made his way home to Jesus.  Loving husband to Ellen Bakker.  Amazing father to Wendy (Denis), Maxine (Tom), and Darlene (Paul).  Special grandfather to Michelle (Alex), Nicole, Darrin (Maryna), Luc, Danielle (Joe), Kyle, and Olivia.  Great grandpa to Lucian, Finnick, Barrett, and Marshall.  Special “Dad” to Rick (Deb), Ed (Terry), Don (Renee), Dave (Becky) and families.  Loving brother to Louise (2023) (John) (2001), Stan (2005) (Joan) (2023), Skip (2018) (Jean), Elmer (2019) (Florine), Jennie May (Don) (2016), Tony (Ruthanne) (2018), and Dorothy (Grant).  Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Gord &  Ann Akins, Dave, Jake, Charlie, and Dennis. Alex was a First General Roads Forman for the County of Haldimand in 1967, Kohler Fire Department for 40 years, an avid camper, traveller, farmer, and jack of all trades.  Always willing to lend a hand to help and eager to take a drive to see something around the country side.  A true gentleman.  Special thanks to nurse Jenna! God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be; So He put his arms around you and whispered “Come with Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away.  Although we LOVED YOU DEARLY we could not make you stay. A GOLDEN HEART stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best! It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Concetta Stadder (nee Arcari) on Sunday July 16, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years Rae Stadder (son of the late Blake and Donna Stadder). She was also predeceased by her parents Luigino and Guiseppina Arcari: sister Pasqualina Arcari: brother in law Dale Stadder. She is survived by her sister Rosina Passaro (Francesco).She will be missed by her nieces Cristina Petrovic (David), Luisa Passaro-Pepetone (Clinton), Jaime Robertson (Mike), Janessa Nichols (Matt), and nephew Adam Stadder (Becky) and their families.She will be remembered by many cousins especially Earl Stadder (Jannette), Holly Hall (late Bob Hall), Sandra McCamus (Don), Ed Smith (Marjorie), Bill Smith (Kelly). Her many godchildren, and amazing neighbors within her town and farming community including the many workers who worked on her farm over the years. She will be fondly remembered by her longtime friend of 48 years Elaine Young, and her daughters. As well as Vito Artale who provided much love and support to her especially in her last days.A big thank you to the many supportive friends and caregivers for all their help and support with daily check ins, phone calls, and love especially Jill Cooper, Kelly Schweyer, Liane Park, Mary Johnston, Jenna Smith (RPN), and the rest of the staff at Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant LHIN.Concetta will be remembered by her community members for her endless generosity, her beautiful gardens, and her good cooking (especially her pies and cookies). Her and Rae had an amazing 32 years of marriage. Together they loved deeply, laughed often, they worked hard and grew an amazing passion for farming. She loved martinis, watching sunsets, and good home cooking.Visitation and celebration of life will be on Thursday July 20, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes, 60 Main St S, Hagersville. Funeral will be on Friday July 21, 2023 at 11am at Faith Centennial United Church 28 Main St W, Selkirk. Peacefully passed away at the West Haldimand General Hospital on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the age of 85. Loving father of Cary (Kim) and Nikki (Dan) and grandpa to Easton, Logan and Summer. Buck will also be especially missed by Bev Thomas, his special friend of many years and her family. Son of the late Peter and Lila (Nelles) Slote and dear brother of Mary Munro of Burlington.  Predeceased by his siblings Mildred Stone and Carl Slote. Buck will also be fondly remembered by Donna whom although separated for many years continued to be friends and enjoyed family events. Buck is also survived by his nephews Jamie and David Slote and niece Diane Stone. Predeceased by his nephews Laird Stone and Donald Munro and niece Sarah Munro. In the early years, Buck owned and operated Peter Slote & Sons Transport with his father Peter and brother Carl. When not working as a mechanic or truck driver, he devoted much of his time to the Community in various aspects such as Councillor for the Village of Hagersville, a member of the Hagersville Lions Club and involved in many sports organizations both playing and coaching. In his semi-retirement he returned to R.F. Almas Company where he had previously been employed for numerous years. Buck served as a firefighter and Chief of Station 2 Hagersville for a total of 46 years and was also a long-standing member of the Hagersville Legion Branch 164. Throughout his years, his leisure time was spent boating and enjoying time at the Woodlawn cottage, snowmobiling, skiing, tinkering with his 1928 Model A and cheering on his favourite sports teams. Cremation has taken place and the family will honor him with a private service on Friday, July 21st at the Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hagersville Legion at a later date. Don passed away at his home on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the age of 82. Don met his serious health challenges with courage and strength and continued to care for his wife Jennie Lou. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Jeanette Sansome and his son Brian (1980). Beloved father to Theresa Edwards. Grandfather of Strachen (Samantha) Edwards and Austin Edwards. Dear brother to Helene Chapman (Arnold, deceased), (David and Sheila Sansome, deceased) (Marion Ruth Sansome, deceased). Brother-in-law to Beverly and Donald McGuire. Remembered by his niece and nephews and Great nieces and nephews. Don’s family would like to sincerely thank his friends for always being there and helping in so many ways. A special Thank you to Don’s Home Care providers, Joanne, Teresa, Debbie and many others for their care and support. Thank you to Dr. Ravinder Ohson, Dr. Michael Gupta, Dr. Matthew McRae and Dr. Mark McRae and all of their medical support teams. As per Don’s wishes there will be no visitation or formal service. CELEBRATION OF LIFE – In Memory of Brian Jackson

Following the announcement of Brian Jackson’s passing on May 15 this year, his family extends an invitation:  Celebration of Life Saturday, August 26. Royal Canadian Legion – Hagersville Anytime between 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Light lunch and a special presentation at 2:30 p.m. Everyone welcome. Surrounded by the love of his family, Brian passed away at the age of 71. Life partner of 51 years to Karin Jackson, father to his sons Ryan (Paula Hearn) and Curtis (Shivaan Burke), ‘Gramps’ to Josie Jackson-Burke, son of Iris and Clarence, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He led a rich life filled with passions for cooking, classic cars, carpentry, fishing, the Leafs, the Jays, tennis, family and more. May 26th would have marked 20 years since Brian began his second career at Heaslip Ford, after retiring from a 30 year career at Stelco Steel. He was well loved and respected by his work families. The courage, humour and kindness Brian showed throughout his life, to the end, continue to inspire. He is deeply missed.

April 26, 1941 – June 18, 2023 Marilyn Anne Murphy, a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, teacher, mentor, and friend passed away with peace on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the age of 82. Forever a teacher, Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love, life lessons, and cherished stories. Marilyn treasured deep connections with her family, nurturing these bonds over her full life. Marilyn was a devoted wife to her late husband, Wayne, and loving mother to her children, Scott (Carrie), and Melanie (Riyaz) and an adoring Nana to Sarah, Leigh, and Jasmine. She was dear eldest sister to the late Dave (Lynda) Perkes, the late Ruth (Jim) Hagey, Tom (Lori) Perkes and the late Judy Perkes (John Lech). Marilyn’s vibrant spirit will be missed by her aunt, Florence (the late Tom Perkes) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Melburn “Bus” and Ethel “Jo” Perkes. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring team at Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener. Their compassionate care and the lively stories they shared about Marilyn, are deeply appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2 p.m., St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Cayuga. A reception will be held afterward to honour Marilyn’s life and legacy. For those able to attend the service, please wear colour in honour of the vibrant way Marilyn lived her life.The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Outdoor and Therapeutic Gardens fund at Trinity Village Care Centre, Kitchener. Suddenly, as the result of complications from a fractured ankle, Wray’s life ended too soon on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in his 49th year.  Wray was the loving son of Nancy Stallwood (Larry, 2008) and special friend of Marv Bartlett.  Sister and best friend of Lori Mehlenbacher (Rob).  Wray is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dear friends at N.A.C.L. in Simcoe. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10 – 11 am.  The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11 am.  Private burial of Wray’s ashes will follow at a later date.  Wray will be laid to rest at Knox Presbyterian Cemetery in Jarvis beside his father.  In lieu of flowers, Wray’s family would greatly appreciate donations to Norfolk Association of Community Living in Simcoe (N.A.C.L.) where Wray was welcomed, cared for and enjoyed numerous social and sporting events.  Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.ca

June 5, 1957 – July 9, 2023 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Kevin on July 9, 2023 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Debbie (nee Whitford). Loving father of Chantelle. Brother of Charlene and late Frank DeMille, Barb and Herb Newell, Nancy and Ken Rightmyer, and Karin DeMille. Brother-in-law to Mary Anne and late Larry Whitford. Son of the late Frank and Doris (Patton) DeMille. Son -in-law of Dolores and (late Ivan Whitford). Kevin will be missed by several nieces and nephews. He was employed at Battlefield International Inc. and will be missed by co-workers, and also by his pets Max, Blitz, and Cadbury.
