HAGERSVILLE—This year’s Smile Cookie campaign did way more than bring smiles – it delivered critical support to frontline care at West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH).
Thanks to the generous support of our community, the 2025 Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign raised a record-breaking $45,671.54 for the West Haldimand Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (WHHHF). Since 2015, this campaign has contributed nearly $250,000 to WHGH.
The funds will help purchase essential hospital equipment that directly improves care. This includes:
- Portable roll monitors, allowing vital signs to be tracked at the bedside across multiple units.
- A respiratory FIT tester, which ensures proper mask fit and protects both staff and patients.
- A mobile patient lift, used to safely transfer patients and reduce risk of injury.
WHHHF is also thankful to the many volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped decorate hundreds of Smile Cookies – your time and energy helped spread smiles and raise funds for vital hospital equipment.
“It’s incredible to see how something as simple as a cookie can help fund such critical equipment,” says Lisa Hostein, Executive Director of WHHHF. “The support from Tim Hortons, our volunteers, and everyone who bought a Smile Cookie will make a real difference in patient care.”
The funds were raised through Smile Cookie sales at Tim Hortons locations in Hagersville and Jarvis, owned by Shaun Salverda.
“We’re so proud to support the West Haldimand General Hospital Foundation through the Smile Cookie campaign,” says Salverda. “Seeing the community come together – and knowing these cookies are helping people right here at home – is what makes this campaign so special.”
In May, Tim Hortons announced a national record of $22.6 million raised through the campaign, supporting over 600 local charities and community organizations across Canada and the US.
The success of this campaign wouldn’t be possible without every single one of you who bought a Smile Cookie and helped turn a small treat into something truly meaningful. Your continued support helps WHGH invest in the tools needed to deliver high-quality care close to home.
But the need doesn’t end here. Donations are critical year-round to help WHGH keep pace with changing technology, maintain safe care environments, and respond to the growing needs of our patients.

Since the first-ever Smile Cookie campaign in 1996, the annual charitable campaign has raised a total of more than $151 million for charities and community groups, which are selected every year by Tim Hortons restaurant owners. Recipients include local hospitals, community care organizations, food banks, and schools.
