Whispering Hearts founder holds rally at Queen’s Park

QUEEN’S PARK—Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue’s founder and Animal Welfare Watch Ontario (AWWO) member Brenda Thompson organized an animal advocate rally at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in Toronto on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Animal advocates came together “to show our government we will not tolerate animal abuse in Ontario,” said Thompson.

The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) announced on March 4 that they would no longer be enforcing animal welfare laws as of April 1, 2019.

Last week, AWWO reacted with dismay at the news that the OSPCA had offered the Government of Ontario a deal to extend their animal welfare law enforcement services until June 28, 2019.
