I recently made this crock pot sausage dish and shared some with Karen and Jim Wells of Hagersville and they said it was really delicious. Both of them suggested adding more sausage and Karen thought it would have been better with the casings removed from the sausage. I totally agree with them but if you don’t have any extra sausage you could also add some cooked and chopped bacon pieces. I used pre frozen and thawed carrots in place of raw ones. This is good on its own or can be served over cooked rice or pasta.
I also tried the cauliflower feta bake and it is a recipe that I will definitely make again. I used some dried oregano and parsley instead of the dill as I am not fond of the taste of dill.
I have not yet tried the beef and mushroom burgers but certainly intend to do so soon.
In continuing our random acts of kindness Lois Douglas has received several meals and visits from friends during her recovery after a recent hospitalization. A young man carried a senior’s groceries out from Food Basics and loaded them in his car for him. The man tried to give him a tip but the young man refused to take it. My grandson, Aaron, drove me to a recent family birthday celebration that I wouldn’t have been able to go to as I had recent cataract surgery and couldn’t drive at night then.
