HALDIMAND—Christmas celebrations are taking place all across Haldimand this month. Among the celebrations this past week was the Hagersville Santa Claus Parade on Friday, December 6, 2024. That same evening, the annual Light Up Night took place over in Cayuga as well.
HAGERSVILLE
Above, members of the Haldimand Rivercats team had a blast riding and walking alongside their float through the streets of Hagersville.
Among the animals in the parade were horses with lights wrapped around them.
Mya and Amber Garmon and Dana Bolton were all lit up and bright for the parade.

CAYUGA
CAYUGA—The residents of Cayuga showed their hometown pride by bundling up and attending Light Up Night on Friday, December 6, 2024. Santa arrived in a fire truck and provided the countdown for the annual lighting of the Village Green tree.

or those looking to warm up, the library also remained open to allow children a place to show off their colouring skills. Among the colouring participants were (below left) Evelyn Juliao (5), Sylvia Juliao (3), Lucas Juliao (10).

Several local businesses and groups took the opportunity to meet with residents, including (below right) Michael Berry sharing upcoming events at Ruthven. “This year the weather cooperated,” said Erica Riewald, Festival Director and VP of the Cayuga Chamber of Commerce, “so we are very excited for the fireworks display.” A great turnout and fun was had by all.
