HALDIMAND—Kids of all ages were busy this past weekend celebrating Easter with their families at a host of activities across the county. Calvary Pentacostal Church in Dunnville was one such location. Its large hunt included thousands of chocolate eggs up for grabs over two time slots, and other sweet treats included cotton candy and popcorn. Additional fun included face painting, mascots dressed for photos, and a collection of non-perishables to support those in need. The Caledonia Chamber of Commerce’s Egg Hunt, which saw about 1,000 kids across four age categories braving a cloudy, cool day to chase 30,000 eggs. The eggs were donated by various local sponsors and the event was managed by 20 volunteers. Childrens music was provided by Lorne Lampert of “Mystic Drumz”, and both firefighters and OPP were on hand to showcase their gear.

CALEDONIA—The Caledonia Easter Egg Hunt always sees a huge turnout from the community, and the 2024 event on Friday, March 29 was no different. This was the nineth annual event, with the Caledonia BIA Coordinator Kathy Marshall acting as master of ceremonies to keep things moving as volunteers set out the 30,000 eggs for the 1,000 children to find at McKinnon Park next to the Caledonia Lions Community Centre. Other photos showcase the many happy faces on the hunting field as children sought out their chocolate treasures and met the Easter Bunny. —Haldimand Press photos by Randy Carter.
