CALEDONIA—Traffic was bumper-to-bumper along Argyle Street in Caledonia as traffic that would normally bypass the town was forced to travel through it on February 10, 2020.
A small group of protestors blocked off access to the bypass at the southern end next to Argyle Street South with their vehicles, beginning around 1:30 p.m.
The group held signs, which included messages such as: “Water is sacred – No pipelines!”, “Kill the black snake”, “Frack off”, “The world is watching…”, and “Haudenosaunee no consent”.
The demonstration remained across the roadway until 6 p.m. that night, when the bypass was reopened.
