CALEDONIA—Haldimand Horticultural Society (HHS) held our annual plant and bake sale on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Caledonia.
We enjoyed an excellent turnout of anxious gardeners scooping up the many plants of different varieties that were available for sale. The pretty little tea cups we created as a Mother’s Day special were very popular. Tom Lefferly donated over 100 plants, including multiple sizes and colours of iris, prickly pear, yucca, Solomon seal, lilac, and hydrangea; he also dug up some of his precious tree lily to give to all the volunteers as a thank you for our hard work. Then to top that off he buys more plants from us. We thank Tom for his generosity and support. He certainly loves his plants and gardening. Just another successful day for HHS.
Our next meeting is May 23 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 27 Orkney St., Caledonia. Our guest speaker will be Shawn Rennie from Creekside Apiaries.
