JARVIS/HAGERSVILLE –Over the last few years, Jarvis Community Christian School (JCCS) has been giving back to their community by making donations to local food banks. They have done non-food, food drives, where students are invited to bring in cash donations over the course of one week at the beginning of May.

This year, the class that brought in the most money would earn a trip to shop for and deliver food to the Jarvis Caring Cupboard. The winning class was chosen for the highest average donation gathered per student in the class, with Brenda Dreise’s Grade 3 class winning with over $1,000 raised from just 16 students in the class.

The school raised a total of $9,209 for the Jarvis Caring Cupboard. The Grade 3 class was invited to Ron’s No Frills in Hagersville on Monday, May 15 to shop for what Jarvis Caring Cupboard needed the most.

Students helped load the bus with all the groceries and then went to the Jarvis Caring Cupboard to unload the groceries and learn from Shirley Teal about the process of how those in need get help.
