HALDIMAND—The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several reports of thefts at LCBO locations in Cayuga, Caledonia, and Hagersville.
Media Relations Officer Patti Cote confirmed the OPP’s involvement, but noted that public details remain limited.

“I did put one incident with details out on our socials,” Cote told The Haldimand Press. “I can’t tell you if any incidents are related, as the investigations are ongoing.”
The OPP has stated there are no reports of violence associated with the thefts, and the cases are being treated as non-violent shoplifting incidents.
No charges have been laid so far, and police typically do not provide estimates of the value of stolen items in such investigations.
Shoppers and local business owners are being reminded to remain aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
Police are encouraging anyone with information or relevant security footage to come forward to aid the investigation.
To support ongoing and future investigations, the OPP recommends using programs like CamSafe, which allows individuals and businesses with video surveillance cameras to register their systems.
This program helps police quickly identify and access relevant footage during investigations, noted Cote.

The OPP continues to investigate and urges the public to provide any details that may assist in solving these cases.
