CAYUGA—The Ontario government is continuing to invest in the health and wellbeing of our local seniors. Seniors Active Living Centres in Haldimand-Norfolk will receive a combined amount of $83,271 and this investment will help keep local seniors fit, active, healthy, and socially connected.
“Seniors Active Living Centres provide our seniors the quality of life they deserve,” said Toby Barrett, MPP for Haldimand-Norfolk. “Our government remains committed to the safety, independence, and wellbeing of Ontario’s seniors throughout the province.”
Receiving funds locally are: Cayuga Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, $18,582.62; Norfolk County – Delhi, $10,675; Norfolk County – Simcoe, $54,014.41.
Seniors in Ontario are the fastest growing age group. By 2023, there will be 3 million Ontarians over 65. Active living brings positive health benefits, helping seniors live in their own home. Seniors Active Living Centre operators are community-based and promote wellness and social interaction through almost 300 programs across the province.
