August 1, 1939 – October 27, 2025 After a short illness at the age of 86. Survived by his wife Myrna (Pusey) of 62 years. Beloved father of Lorraine (Dave Black) and David Cooper. Grandfather of Jessica and Catherine (Corbin Schmidt). Great-Grandfather of Lilly, Carter, Jack and Cameron. Brother of Lyle, Gordon, Mary (John Corbett) and Lillian Young. John was a lifelong farmer in Haldimand and worked at Stelco (Hilton Works) for 41 years before retirement. Friends are invited to call at MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 2 – 4 p.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 4 p.m. Private family interment of ashes at York Cemetery at a later date. HAMPSON, Brian Phillip

It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Hampson announces his passing on October 26, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Born on July 6, 1939, in Sheffield, U.K., Brian and his family immigrated to Canada in 1974, eventually settling in Cheapside. Brian was employed as a millwright, working at Dofasco, Stelco, and Ontario Hydro in Nanticoke, retiring after 25 years of service. He is survived by his sons Andrew (Jamie) of Dartmouth, N.S.; Phil (Kathy) of Windsor, N.S.; Peter (Glenda) of Eastern Passage, N.S.; and David (Tammy) of Sooke, B.C.; as well as nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Rose; his wives, Maureen and Hazel; and his granddaughter, Kellie. After Hazel’s passing, Brian moved to Nova Scotia to be closer to family. At Brian’s request, there will be no celebration of life. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Lewis Hall Retirement Facility in Dartmouth, N.S.

MOODIE, Larry Donald

Larry Moodie, 75, of Dunnville, Ontario passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Dunnville to Murray and Marion Moodie on February 18, 1950. He grew up on the family farm in Canfield with his younger siblings Judy and Fred. During his childhood, Larry enjoyed playing pond hockey and baseball, and he often raised a prize calf for the fall fair. Larry attended Mohawk College and worked on the railroad before joining the Ontario Provincial Police. It was during his early years on the police force, while working at the Meaford O.P.P. Detachment, that he met and fell in love with Debra McKibbon. Larry and Debra got married on July 27, 1974 in Meaford. They raised their children Melissa and Michael in Burlington and later Orillia before eventually retiring to Dunnville. Larry was a man of integrity who was wise, hard-working, and most of all loving. His sense of humour was legendary. The highlights of Larry’s life are numerous and varied. First and foremost, Larry cared about people. Larry was an avid golfer and also enjoyed fishing, skiing and travelling. He loved spending his winters in Florida. Larry served in the O.P.P. for 34 years and retired as a Detective Inspector. Larry believed in contributing to society, serving on the Boards of Haldimand War Memorial Hospital and the Responsible Gambling Council of Ontario. He also volunteered for countless studies to support medical research in the public interest. Larry was always very grateful for the outstanding medical care he received. The family extends their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, University Health Network, and St. Michael’s Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Ahmed Kamouna for his exceptionally compassionate care. Larry was deeply thankful to his anonymous heart donor who gave him the gift of seven extra years of life. Lastly and most importantly, Larry was forever grateful for the loving care and support of his wife Debra who he absolutely adored and who was his constant companion and best friend. Larry is survived by his wife Debra, daughter Melissa Hanmer (Andrew), son Michael Moodie (Nicola Otter), grandchildren Nora, Scarlet, Hunter, and Easton, step-grandchildren Rio, Kew, and Boh, sister Judy Phillips (Burton), brother Fred Moodie (Ellen), brother-in-law Ted McKibbon (Connie), nieces and nephews Jennifer, Mark, Jessica, Matthew and Amy, and steadfast friend Bill Sayers. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and by his nephew Wesley Moodie. Family and friends are invited to an open house at Canfield Community Centre, 50 Talbot Road, Canfield, on Sunday November 9, 2025 between 1 and 4 p.m. Please bring your fondest memories of Larry to share. The family will hold a private service. Memorial donations may be made to Haldimand War Memorial Hospital.

BOUCHER, Pauline Laurette (nee Grandbois)

Passed away peacefully, with her family, on Sunday October 19, 2025 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of Paul Smith and the late Pat Boucher. Loving mother of Patrick Boucher (Cathy Westbury) and Rae (Al) Barr. Nanny of Mitch Barr, Ethan Barr (Devyn nee Small). Special great-nanny of Austyn Barr. Dear sister of Roger (Joan) Grandbois and †Gunner (Carol) Grandbois.  Pauline will be sadly missed by her and Paul’s family. March 28, 1945 – October 22, 2025 Nana “The Queen” Taken too soon after showing such strength in the face of cancer. It is with broken hearts, we share the passing of Carolyn Jones-Ryan, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hagersville, Ontario, Carolyn lived a life filled with compassion, laughter, and love. She had an incredible ability to light up any room with her smile and make everyone around her feel cared for and welcome. Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Cecil Swing and Emma Murphy, the cherished sister of Jerry and the late Joyce Swing, the late David Swing, (Alice Swing), the late Jack Brown (Laur),and the late Marion and Ralph Cherry. She was the loving wife of the late Bruce Jones and later found happiness again with her devoted husband, Vincent Ryan. A proud and exceptional mother, Carolyn will be forever cherished by her daughters Lana Anderson (Jeff) and Tammy Melnyk (Roman), and by her treasured grandchildren Larisa and Kaitlynn Anderson, and Julia and David Melnyk. Her family was the center of her world, and her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her. Carolyn’s family finds comfort knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and that her memory will live on through the love she shared so freely. She was a dedicated sales professional for over 57 years.  She worked closely with non-profit organizations throughout her career, supporting local communities and contributing to countless charitable initiatives. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at the Ancaster Old Mill, 548 Old Dundas Road, Ancaster on Wednesday November 5, 2025 from 3 to 5pm,  where her family and friends will gather to honour her love, happiness, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. February 3, 1946 – October 18, 2025 Bob Lever passed peacefully in his 80th year at Gardenview LTC in Townsend. He will be missed by his loving wife, Lynda, of 58 years; his daughter, Corrie (Sheryl); brother, Tom (Betty); and sister, Judy (Marlene), as well as Leslie MacLellan, Elaine and Jim Auty, and Duncan MacLellan. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Kathy Blake (John). He was Papa to Shyla, Dillon, and Jessica, and uncle to Megan (Dave), Katy (Natasha), James Blake (Jessica), Tyler, Michael and Shallon Auty, and Cam and Adam MacLellan (Faith). He loved his great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-grandchildren. Bob will be remembered for his gift of gab, quick wit, strong work ethic, and his underlying kind, loving, and spiritual nature. Always proud to be a trucker. The family will honour his life with visitation at Hyde and Mott Chapel, R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd, 60 Main St. S., Hagersville, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Selkirk Baptist Church, 19 Main St. W., Selkirk, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Norfolk Haldimand County Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Society, or Selkirk Baptist Church.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Harold Hoover on Saturday October 11, 2025 at the age of 80.  Born in Dunnville, ON and raised in Rainham Centre, ON.  He was an avid reader and accomplished wood worker. He enjoyed his time as an Oddfellow (Cayuga Lodge) and was an active member of St. John’s No.35 Masonic Lodge (Cayuga). Retired from Stelco LEW in 2004. Harold is survived by his beloved wife Diane (McFarlane) of 60 years; sons Rodney and Scott (Vanessa); grandchildren Tristen (Ayodeji), Jordan (Jen), Nadine, Samantha and Jane; great-granddaughter Averie. Harold was predeceased by both parents Orloff and Gertrude (Nagel), siblings Wray, Joyce and Keith. Harold leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and many countless memories. Born December 27, 1963, Roxann passed away peacefully at her home in Tuttle, Oklahoma, on October 11, 2025, after a short illness. Roxann was predeceased by her husband, J.D., in January of this year. She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her sons, Mark and Brandon (Suzie), and her dear grandsons, Ryker, Brandon Jr., and Kyler; her parents, Lorri (Gerry) Van Engen and Bob Swartz; her sisters, Rochelle (Andy) Vanderbolt, Robin (Peter) deBoer, and Dee Ann Shumaker  and Kelly Noel, both of Ohio. Roxann also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as many friends. Passed away surrounded by his loving family at St. Mary’s Hospital on October 07, 2025, at the age of 91. He is survived by his partner Mary Lynn West, children Darlene Kline, Cathy and (Bill Summerhayes), Loved by his grandchildren and their partners Jessica (Christopher), Blaire (Zach), Paige (Tom) and William (Laura), and Sam. Great-grandchildren Summer, Georgina, Jack, Harry, Colwyn, Tennyson and Billy. Floyd was born December 8,1933, lived all his life on the family farm in Hagersville. for 89 years before moving to Kitchener with family. Floyd was an electrician by trade servicing Hagersville and surrounding farming community. His hobbies included being a pilot, flying around southern Ontario, a wood craftsman, building furniture and clocks for family members. Travels throughout the world with his partner Mary. Friends and family will always remember him as an avid storyteller, talking about his adventures from his past or having interesting facts on many subjects.  A celebration of life will be held at the Waterford Legion 223 Nichol Street W.
