Passed away peacefully after a brave battle with cancer on Sunday January 26, 2025, at the Norfolk General Hospital at the age of 86. He is no longer in pain but rejoices with his Lord Jesus Christ. Devoted husband of Norma nee Mulligan (2011) for 48 years. Loving Dad of Sandra and Art Wright, Sharon and Bruce Wells, and Shelley and Darryl Hagan. Proud Papa of Rachel and Kurtis Morris, Nathan Wells and fiancée Stephanie Nesbitt, and Kaitlyn and Edrianne Caragay. Wonderful great Papa of Charlotte Morris. Brother of Arlene and Peter Thiessen, brother-in-law of Marion and Lawrence Smith. He will be missed by nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbours, and friends.  Gordon was a faithful member of Hartford Baptist Church serving as deacon for 56 years. Gordon was a dedicated farmer, community historian, and helpful neighbour.  We would like to thank Dr. Mark Ghesquiere, CBI Health (Hagersville), Health at Home, and doctors, nurses, and staff at Norfolk General Hospital (floors 3 and 4) for the care and kindness they showed Dad. It was very much appreciated. Family and friends were received at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford on Friday January 31st, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  Funeral service was held at Waterford Community Church on Saturday February 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. Rev. Josh Staats officiated. It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lola Rayner at Hamilton General Hospital on January 22, 2025 in her 70th year. Loving daughter of predeceased parents Emily and Ivan Rayner. Warmhearted sister of †Donna Field, Sharon (†Colin) Clarke, Andy Rayner, Kevin Rayner and Ilona (Gianni) Setten. Lola will be missed by her nieces, nephews, many friends and her dear closest friend Brenda. Lola loved cooking, watching football and a cold beer on a hot summer night. She enjoyed travelling in her later years. Many thanks to physicians and staff at Hagersville and Hamilton General Hospitals. Visitation will be held at MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 5 – 7 p.m.. Loving mother to Cal (Dorothy) Clint, Ronny (deceased) and granny to Mackenzie, Billy, Tammy. Survived by sister Margaret and brother Len. Predeceased by Tom, Ed (Jane), Phyllis. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Loving “Ma” to Susan. This world was blessed to have you in it, our sweet ma. With profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Walter Neale Armstrong on January 25, 2025, in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Isabel Armstrong, and his brothers, Roy and Verne, Walter leaves behind cherished memories with his sister, Margaret Hoover (the late Morris). Walter is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Pauline; his loving children, Neale (Savini), Kathy (Robert), and Dean (Jennifer) and his treasured grandchildren, David, Katie, Jesse, Maddi, Tyler, and Callista, and was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Walter retired from Stelco as a payroll supervisor in 1999, yet his lifelong passion as a beef farmer remained central to his identity. He proudly served for many years as President of the Haldimand Cattleman’s Association, demonstrating his commitment to the agricultural community. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Parkview Meadows for their exceptional care during Walter’s brief stay, and to Steve Armstrong for his unwavering love and support in recent years. It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Thomas on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville in his 88th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years Mary (Molly), daughter Lana Regan (Joe), and grandson Cameron Kenny. Thomas is survived by his children George (Anne Marie), Esther, and James (Colette). Proud Grandad to Brandon Gainey of North Carolina, McKayla (Andrew), Aidan, and Callum (Julia) Kenny. Great-Grandad to Devyn and Jayda Gainey. Sincere thank you to his doctor Mark Miller of Jarvis, for his compassion and care, assisting Thomas in facing his illness on his own terms. Thank you Dr. Kobah and his team at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital for all of their support in his final days. Many thanks to Jenna Smith, his dedicated nurse. Thomas so loved her positivity and laughter during this ordeal. As per Thomas’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a date in the future. After a short illness, we announce the peaceful passing of Kenneth George Smith, surrounded by family, on his 93rd birthday, January 23, 2025, at West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Smith (2019) for 66 years. Cherished father of Wayne and Nancy, the late Jack (2007) and the late Shirley (2016), Cheryl and Steve, Pat and Gary, Deborah, Kim, and Doug. Loving grandfather of Lorrie Ann and Matt (Henry and Oliver), Dwayne and Michelle, Andrea (Katie, Elizabeth, and Joe), Jennifer, Jonathan, Matthew and Karen, Mallory and Oliver, Mark and Kassandra (Theo), Amy and Chris (Spencer, Zachary, and Cole), Sandra (Marlee and Jace), Kyle and Nash (Avery and Harper), Dakota, Daniel, and Kiara. Brother of Clifford Smith (Linda), Norma Ayotte, Liz Smith-Walker and the late Earl Smith. Brother-in-law to † Anne Butler (†Paul), Linda Mills (Doug), Glen Kitchen, Barb Fearman, †Alice Harper (†John), †Ada Armstrong (†Ivan), and Sue Kitchen (†Jim). Ken was a past president and life member of the Jarvis Lions Club, a dedicated servant of his community, and an active member of Christ Church Nanticoke until its closure. Born in Calgary, Ken joined the Canadian Army at 17, serving as a Craftsman with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. In 1951, he was stationed at the Hagersville Army Camp to refurbish WWII army vehicles to send to Korea. That same year, he met his future wife, Ruth, on a blind date. They married in 1952 after his honorable discharge. Ken’s work ethic and mechanical talent shaped a career that began with the Haldimand County Roads Department in 1954 and culminated at Conklin Shows in Brantford, where he worked until his retirement in 1998. A devoted family man, Ken was known for his kindness, craftsmanship, and community spirit. He continued to serve the Jarvis Lions Club into his 90’s, leaving an enduring legacy of generosity and dedication. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Jarvis Community Centre, 18 James St., Jarvis, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Jarvis Lions Club, W.H.G.H. September 21, 1945 – January 24, 2025 Beverly Jean (Marshall) Radke peacefully passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at West Haldimand General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Keith Radke.  Daughter of the late W.L. (Bill) and Jean Marshall.  Sister of Doris and Bob Awde, and the late Ruth Ann Marshall and the late Billy Marshall. Dear Aunt of Angela Awde, Joel and Jen Awde, Brian and Christine Richard and John Richard. Great-Aunt to Hazen, Caitlin, Brayden, Bianca, and Aidan.  Great-Great Aunt to Alek, Brantley, and Xavier.  Loved by Keith’s family, especially Linda and Steve, Eric, Mandy, and their family.  Bev worked her entire life in the Arts Library at the University of Waterloo and played the organ at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fisherville for over 40 years. On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in his 88th year, Mike was reunited with his “Joy-Baby” (Joyce), the love of his life. A true hero to his three girls, Kathy Brunton (Scott), Kimberlee Spurr (Mark) and Michele Mauro (Frank) and the very proud Grandpa to his 7 grandchildren, and his 6 great-grandchildren. Mike is survived by his brothers, John and Walter (Barb), and many extended family. He is predeceased by his parents Mike (1988) and Katharina (2012), and by his sister Kathy (1944). Mike was born in Transylvania, Romania, eventually immigrating to Canada in 1949, moving to Dundas, and eventually Mount Hope and Caledonia in his lifetime.  Throughout his career, he worked as a mechanic for different businesses and was self-employed for much of his life. Mike was a loving and dedicated family man. He cared deeply for others and quietly showed his family the meaning of true love. His devotion to Joyce shone through during her final years as he lovingly tended to her needs and expressed his affection through heartfelt poetry and handpicked wildflowers to bring her joy. His memory is a source of strength and we honour him by living the values he instilled in all of us. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the laughter, love, and cherished memories we hold dear. Mike’s legacy is a testament to the incredible husband, father, and grandfather he was. Ivan was predeceased by his wife Irene (nee Giles;1954-1995) and wife Reta Smith-McIntyre (1996-2015), his parents James and Esther McIntyre, brother Howard (Frances), sister Irma and sister-in-law Donna. He is survived by brother Gary. Proud and loving father of Janice (Roger) Cowan and Don (Darlene). Proud grandpa of Jordan (Katie) Cowan, Joel (Brittany) Cowan, Jenny (Tyler) Enzlin, Dylan (Natalie) and Breanna (Ryan) Weise.
