Doris passed away January 31, 2024 at West Haldimand General Hospital. Doris May Hodgson was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1932. Doris is predeceased by husbands Frank Speller (1950-1981) and Gordon Donaldson (1985-2000), daughter-in-law Theresa Speller (2020), and her son Robert Speller (2021). Doris is survived by her sons David Speller (Pam Lambert), and Brian Speller, grandchildren Tara Speller, Shawn Speller, Christopher & Victoria Speller as well as two great grandchildren Olivia Speller and Duncan Smith. Doris will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Marjorie Hodgson. Doris worked 10 years for the Ministry of Corrections at Sprucedale School. She returned to McMaster University after obtaining her BA and taught at Mohawk College New Credit and Brantford Campuses for 20 years.Upon retirement Doris volunteered for many years with the Alzheimer’s Society and various hospitals. Doris took up golf and was a member of HGCC for many years and a member of the Haldimand Choralairs for 30 years. The family would like to thank the care and attention given to her by the staff at R-Villa Caledonia for the past 5 years, as well as the caring staff during her short stay at West Haldimand General Hospital.In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or West Haldimand General Hospital.A grave side service for family and friends will be held at Hagersville Cemetery Saturday, February 10 at 1pm. Cherished grandma to her grandsons Brodie, Brandon and Shane (Madison) and loved by her sister-in-law Marie Kohl. Suddenly on Sunday, January 28, 2024 in his 54th year. Beloved son of Margaret Jordan Whitford and the late Robert Jordan. He will be sadly missed by his sons Andrew (Tina) Jordan and Robert Jordan. He was a first-time grandpa to his grandson Archer. Survived by his siblings, Louise (Rick) Marchand, Barbara Jordan, Pam (Don) Stone, MaryAnne Whitford and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Larry Whitford. Don was a valued employee at J. L. M. Metal Recycling in Waterford and Hagersville for many years. One of Don’s favorite pastimes was fishing and enjoying a Tim Horton’s Beverage mainly his coffee. Cremation has taken place. On February 1, 2024 our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather peacefully entered into glory in his 87th year. Louis was the husband of the late Martha Hogeterp (2013) and beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Pam and Harry Stam, Jennifer and Bram Drost, Renee and Randy Nieuwsma, Barb and Ron Douwes, the late Chris (2022) and Kelly Bill, and 20 grandchildren, their spouses and 24 great-grandchildren. Louis is survived by in-laws Wiepe Taekema, Peter Hogeterp, Rose DeBeer, Pati Hogeterp and Hazel and Larry Schipper. He is predeceased by his five older brothers in The Netherlands, his sister Baukje (Jelle) Visser in Jarvis, Ontario, five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. His family finds great comfort in his lifelong faith and trust in Jesus. This legacy anchored him in good times and bad, and was reflected through his words and deeds. On Tuesday January 30, 2024 at the age of 70 years. After a courageous battle with cancer and family by her side, Bonnie was reunited with her soulmate Bruce and daughter Courtney. She will be lovingly remembered by sons-Ryan (Kayla) and Jesse (Cally); grandsons- Chadwick, Calvin, and Victor; sister-in-law Nancy; sister Beth; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary “family”. Bonnie was heavily involved in the Haldimand community and the proud founder of the Caledonia Ruffins Pet Centre. If there was a community fundraising event she supported it in whatever way was asked of her. Bruce, her children, and her animals were Bonnie’s world. A special thank you to the cancer teams at the Brantford General Hospital, Juravinski Hospital, and the Home and Community Care Support Teams. EUBANK, Neil Gordon It is with great sadness that the family of Neil Gordon Eubank announce his passing, in his 75th year, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Neil passed away peacefully with family and friends by side. He was the son of Harold and Agnes Eubank (nee Watson) and a loving father to John, Jim (Veronica), Loretta (Steve), and Kelly and a grandfather to Jonathan. He was brother to James “Barton” and Helen. Neil was born in Hagersville, Ontario on September 2, 1949. He worked as a lifelong farmer – following in the footsteps of his father and taking on the family farm and establishing himself in the agricultural community. Neil also loved spending time outdoors, finding peace in walking the wooded lot of Walnut Grove Farms LTD. or enjoying hunting and ice fishing with friends. Neil was an athletic person who also enjoyed playing baseball in Oneida and hockey in Hagersville. Neil possessed an affection towards animals, music, and his family. He will be greatly missed. Neil was supported by many, and we would like to extend our thanks to the individuals who aided Neil in his time of need and defined the meaning of community. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Matthew, Mitchell (Steph), Courtney, Kesa, Kevin (Beth), Jody (Al), Katie (Paul), Jorja, and Natasha. The family of the late Marlene Touesnard would like to express thanks to family and friends for all the love shown to us in the past several weeks. No words can express the gratitude that we felt for the love shown through prayers, food drop-offs, flowers, cards, phone calls, house visits, hospital visits, social media messages, hugs and donations made in memory of Marlene. To everywho who came to the funeral home visitation or Celebration of Life, we are so grateful for your love and support. Thank you to Dr. Randazzo and CBI Health for their care prior to Marlene’s hospitalization. Thanks to Haldimand EMS and the E.R. staff for their care on Christmas Eve. Special thanks to Dr. Yar and the incredible staff of the 3rd Floor Inpatient Unit for their exceptional care. We are beyond grateful for the hard work Pastor Peggy Bartlett did in a very short time to make Marlene’s Celebration of Life very meaningful. Thank you Pastor Peggy for your valued friendship with Marlene, your visits to the house and hospital, the prayers and the hugs you provided. Thank you to John and the choir for playing and singing one of Marlene’s favorite hymns. And the beautiful hymn sung by Peggy, Dale and Cheryl; also another favourite hymn. Marlene would’ve loved this service so much. Dale and the many volunteers of the Hagersville United Church who prepared a delicious lunch, deserve a special recognition for their hardwork. Special thanks to Bill Lofthouse and staff from Hyde & Mott for their exceptional compassion and guidance shown to us. Finally a huge thank you to the pallbearers who Marlene loved so much; Sean Cook, Sean Arnold, Justin McBride, Tyler McBride, Ryan LeBlanc and Stephen Baxter.
