With deep sadness we announce the passing of Doug as the result of a tragic accident on Sunday June 9, 2024 in his 92nd year. Doug was a dedicated husband to Laura (nee Gillan) for nearly 70 years. Loving father of Audrey Jacobs, Stephen (Paul) King and Blair Ira King. Proud grandfather of Zac, Brock (Christian) and great-grandchildren Bella and Matteo. He was the brother of Irene (the late Orv) Fanson and the late Norma Wilson. He is survived by his sister-in-law Madalene Switzer. Doug, a hard worker, will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and his giving spirit. Doug touched many lives over the years in his multiple ventures and activities including, the Haldimand Choralairs, Rivertown Flyers, Cayuga Curling Club, Grand Erie District School Board and the Grand River Conservation Authority. He had a passion for music, dancing and socializing. Doug and Laura hosted many parties together and in particular their Grey Cup parties were legendary. Peacefully with her loving family by her side at the West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville on Sunday June 9, 2024, in her 96th year. Reunited after 57 years with her beloved husband Reg. Predeceased by her parents William and Hazel Lint. Loving mother to Carol (Lynn) Rowntree, Dave (Sandra) House and Beth (Mike) Adamowich. Cherished grandmother to Steve (Jennie) Rowntree, Jason (Kristen) House, Dawn Rowntree, Alison House (Nigel), Matt (Erin) Adamowich, Sean (Chelsea) House and Taylor Adamowich as well as great-grandchildren Sydney, Xavier, Freya, Finn, Samuel and Eleanor. 1954 – 2024 It is with great sadness we share in the passing of an amazing person “Ken” on June 5, 2024, following an extremely brave battle with cancer at age 69. Loving and cherished husband to Anne (nee Buttaro). Brother to Shirley (Alan) Jones, Brian (Shari) Jay. Brother-in-law to Tony and Lynda Buttaro; Kathleen and George Oliver; Sandra and Joe Belanger; (the late Glenn) and Jill Buttaro. A dear uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. Predeceased by his parents, Erland and Annie Jay of Milton. Ken worked in maintenance at the Hamilton General Hospital for 39 years. An active member in the Choir and a Warden at St. Paul’s Anglican Church; a member of the Caledonia Men’s Club and Haldimand Horticultural Society. A special thank you to Stedman’s Community Hospice in Brantford for their exceptional care and kindness to Ken. November 5, 1942 – May 31, 2024 After a good life well lived, Bonnie passed away peacefully in her sleep at home at the age of 81. Loving and devoted wife to Dominic (Jock) for 58 years, visiting him faithfully at Cedarwood for the last year and a half. Mother to Michelle (John) and Mark (Sonya) and Nona to Scott (Christina), Evan (Emma), Brooke (Nick), Nate and Tessa. Great-gramma to Aubrey, Kaysen and Alexandra. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Dave and Marg Banks and brother John. She is survived by her sister-in law Flora Taylor. Bonnie was a retired nurse and back in the day was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church, Girl Guides of Canada, volunteer driver for the Cancer Society and a member of various embroidery groups and book club. Jock and Bonnie were blessed to enjoy many world travels together in their retirement years. The family will honour Bonnie’s life with a visitation at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Catharina “Cathy” Tuckett on Saturday October 21, 2023. Loving sister of Martha Tuckett (Harry), Bob Tuckett (Kim), Linda Cole, Judy Ray, Jim Tuckett (Hong) and Bill Tuckett (Laura), Proud Aunt of 13 nephews and nieces, and 10 great nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Maria Magdelana “Helen” Tuckett and brother-in-law David Cole. Cathy passed away peacefully in her home at 71 years of age. She attended school at both Caledonia High and the University of Waterloo. Having worked many years in the IT Industry she had retired but kept herself busy with arts and crafts, shopping for bargains and sewing. She loved to make clothes for her nephews and nieces as well as buy them gifts. She had great talents and gave selflessly of her time and skills. A Celebration of Life to honour Cathy will take place at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Thursday, June 13, 2024, visitation is from 11 a.m. – 12:30 pm. It is with gratitude for a long, full life that we announce his death early morning on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Dunnville Memorial Hospital. He was in his 93rd year.Ron will be fondly missed by his family and extended family on Concession 3 Road. Predeceased by his wife Lettie Snider (Barber), his daughter Maureen and his son Rick. Predeceased by his parents, Fred and Nina Snider (Moerschfelder), sister, Donna McConachie (Doug), brother, Lynn Snider (Pat) and sister, Carol Metcalf (Keith). He was uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ron was born and lived his entire life in Rainham Township, where he married and raised his two children. He was a hardworking farmer until the day he passed. He loved the outdoors and was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. He was known as “Rocket” on the softball field for his pitching abilities. He worked as a welder, a butcher, was a skilled mason and had many hobbies, including wood working, playing guitar, and cheering on the Jays and the Leafs. If you had the pleasure of knowing him, you will remember him as a kind, gentle man who was full of knowledge and had many great stories. He will be greatly missed. July 11, 1925 – May 11, 2024 With thankfulness to God for the cherished years and beautiful memories with our loving, nurturing mother, we sadly announce the passing of Mona Werner, two months before her 99th birthday.Mona was the only child of the late Wilfred and Leta Held and the dear wife of the late Daniel Werner (1979). Loving mother of four children – Lynne (Bob) Swent, Karen (Brent) Zavitz, Bev (Dwight) Daley, Lee (Chris ) Werner. Loving grandma to Andrea (Richard), Mike, Todd (Deanna), Jennifer (Mike), Laura (Mark), Jessica, Angela, Josh (Meghan), Kate (Wes), Sarah (Dave), Meghan (Brian). Much loved by 25 great grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Mona was predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law – Catherine (Russell), Carl (Vera), John (Hazel), David (Florence), and is survived by Mary (Don, deceased), and many nieces and nephews. Mona was a longtime faithful member of the Rainham Mennonite Church. For the past four years, Mom was a resident at Leisure Living, Jarvis, Norfolk General Hospital and Norview Lodge, Simcoe.
