February 5, 1948 – October 21, 2023 We announce the sudden passing of Nick on October 21, 2023 with family by his side.  Nick was the loving husband of Pat (Stark) for 51 years full of love, laughs, golf, karaoke, summers at the trailer and escapes to sunny Florida. He was a devoted father to Dan & Jessica Firmani, and Jenni & Mark D’Angela.  Cherished Papa to his grand children Nolan, Sadie,  Tori, and Brad.  Nick’s story began in Italy and then immigrated with his parents Aida and Donato and siblings to Hagersville in 1958.  Nick is the brother of Lou and Karon Firmani, Mary and Jopie Vandyke and Bruna and Gary Hoover.   Son in Law to the late Clifford & Marion Stark, dearest Brother-in-law to Doug & Gerrianne Stark, and Mary & Blake Eady.  Nick will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Nick shared many laughs defeating many in Bocce at annual Family Reunions. Nick was a thoughtful, kind-hearted soul who enjoyed volunteering in his community for various clubs and events. He spent many years coaching and refereeing soccer in Haldimand.  He was instrumental in contributing to the establishment of the Haldimand Youth Soccer Association which his children and grandchildren eventually participated.  For the past 10 years Nick was a member of the Gentleman of Harmony Simcoe Chapter enjoying many friendships and activities over the years.Special thanks to the staff at West Haldimand General Hospital.  If desired donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Thursday October 19, 2023 in his 89th year.  Beloved husband of 66 years to Eleanor (Cade) Heastont.  Loving father of Paul & Jan, Mark & Mercy, and Bonnie & Rick Pepper.  Dear granddad of Luke & Heather, Melissa & Rob, Andrew, Robin & Ding, Justin & Andrea, Ashley & Jerry, and 8 great grandchildren.  Also survived by brother Ron & Merilieu, sister Irene Steinhoff, brother-in-law Don Bartlett, sister-in-laws Janet Heastont, Rosemary Cade, Dorothy McCormack, Patricia Cade, and many nieces & nephews.  Predeceased by siblings Dorothy Armstrong, Jim, Doris Bartlett, Ralph, and Wayne. Ferg was a volunteer firefighter with Selkirk Fire Department for over 35 years, and was employed at Dofasco for 30 years.  He was an avid outdoors man, and enjoyed travelling.The family will honour his life with a visitation at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes Ltd., 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Sunday October 22, 2023 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held at the Selkirk Christian Chapel, 20 Erie St. N., Selkirk on Monday October 23, 2023 at 11 a.m. (Visitation one hour prior to service). October 6, 1925 – October 15, 2023Passed away peacefully at Grandview Lodge, Dunnville, ON on Sunday October 15, 2023.  Daughter of the late John and Agnes Grier.  Predeceased by beloved husband Verdon, infant son Dennis, and seven brothers and twin sisters.  Cherished mother of Delbert (Sheila), and Judy (Jerry).  Proud grandmother of Dennis (Carolyn), Jason (Diana), Heather (Larry), Steven, Heidi (Stephen), and Rebecca (Larry).  Agnes was admired by her great grandchildren; Amanda, Allison (Daniel), Mallory, Jillian, Dalton, Davis, Quenton, Mya, Quinn, Emma, Claire, Jack; as well as great great grandchildren Esther and Alden.Agnes was a very loving mother and knew she was going to be with Jesus.  She loved her family and was very content to be at home baking, cleaning or visiting with those who came to visit.  She would answer to many names like mom, grandma, Oma Aggie, or Suzy, all said with much love.  We will miss her great cups of tea.  Many thanks to Grandview Lodge, Bridgeview, we appreciated the love and kindness you showed to her.Cremation has taken place.  Interment at Minesing Cemetery at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would sincerely be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements by Hyde & Mott Chapel, Hagersville.  www.rhbanderson.com

Peacefully with family at her side at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday October 16, 2023. With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Gauthier at the age of 55 years, on Monday, October 2, 2023. Beloved husband of Robin, loving father of Brian and Mike Gauthier of Niagara Falls, cherished step-father of Braedon and Erin Kittle of Hamilton. Bob is survived by his sister Carolyn Burton of Chippewa and Ed Gauthier of Kingston and predeceased by his mother Carolyn (Darton) of Niagara Falls. Fondly remembered by Jennifer Dwyer-Gauthier and family. Friends are invited to join Bob’s family in a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Grace United Church at 1:00pm, reception to follow at 2:00pm-4:00pm. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marilyn Violet Smith on September 27, 2023, in her 81st year. She is predeceased by her husband Kenneth Smith. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her children Greg (April) and Dan (Kathy-Jo). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Mercedez (Callum), Caleb, Jamie (Matt), and Spencer (Bella). She will also be missed by her sisters Muriel (Johnny), Ivy, Susan (Rick), her in-laws Linda (John), John, Joe and Philip as well as her many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia on Friday, September 29, 2023 from  2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. followed by a service in the chapel on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11a.m. Interment in Cayuga Cemetery, Cayuga St. S., Cayuga ON. Beloved mother of Janine Angotti (Michael) and Kristin Mancel.  Proud Nana of Ryan Angotti (Ashley), Alexandria Dostanic (Nik), Samantha Foley (Kyle), Brittany Angotti and Leila Mancel. Proud Great Nana of nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Lynne Ann (Denham) Parsons, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Fairfield Park, Wallaceburg, at the age of 75. Lynne was born in Fort Erie, Ontario and was a daughter of the late Ralph and Viola (Shier) Denham and step-daughter of the late Clare Winger. Beloved wife of Sheldon Parsons. Loving mother of John Parsons, Christine Parsons, Bryan Parsons and Andrew (Tara McGee) Parsons. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Nevan, Lauren, Jade, Rosland and Kaslo. Kind sister-in-law of Eva Dunham and step-sister of Mary (Jim) Millard. Predeceased by her brother Gary. Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11am at the St. James Anglican church in Wallaceburg.  A visitation will also take place from 10-11 at the church before the service on Wednesday. Passed away peacefully at the West Haldimand General Hospital, Hagersville on Saturday September 16, 2023, just a month shy of his 99th birthday.  Predeceased by his wife Patricia.  Loving father of Betsy MacKinnon of Hamilton.  Predeceased by his sisters Isabel MacDonald, Mildred MacKinnon, Margaret MacKinnon, and Grace Nicholson and by his brother Donald MacKinnon.  Will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Bob will also be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by the Ince family, the Church family, the Curran family, the Vanni family, and the Webb family.  Bob was a Veteran of WWII serving as a Flight Sergeant with the R.C.A.F. and was also the last surviving  WWII Veteran in Hagersville.  Bob has requested cremation and his cremated remains will be taken to his beloved Cape Breton, where he will be interred with his mother.  As an expression of sympathy donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA.  Friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.coldwaterfuneralhome.com
