Loving father of Mark (Donna) and Dave (Kim). Proud grandfather of Jessica (Allan) Houwer, Jennifer (Sawyer) Stone, Nolan (Kirsten) Bacher, Meghan (Drew) Taylor, Brandon (Jennifer) and Justine (Carter) Rock, Chelsea Hessels, Brittany (Dustin) Jansema and Travis Hessels and great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Aubree, Peyton, Renee, Denver, Dawson, Bryce, Joshua and Rebecca. Brother and brother-in-law of Dean (Vonita) Glenney, Becky Glenney, Ralph (Joan) Corlis, Barry (Karen) Cruickshanks. 1943 – 2024 Passed away peacefully at the Welland Hospital on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Norris Marshall “Pete” Souter (2003). Dear sister of Norman Gill (Elaine), Charles Gill (Beverley) and sister-in-law of Phyllis Green (the late Allan) and Sharon Cripps (the late John). Survived by nieces and nephews; David Gill (Elizabeth), Nancy Gill, Donna Gill (Sean Wilson), Ron Gill, Cheryl Loisel (Herven), Leslie Green (John Herter), Catherine Fowler (Colin), Janet Cripps (Christopher Zanuttini), John Cripps (Jennifer Reeder), many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nephews. Predeceased by her parents Sydney and Audrey Gill, brother Arthur Gill, niece LeeAnn Green, and nephew David Green. Born in Welland, Norine grew up on her family farm on McKenney Road. Norine pursued a career in nursing and received numerous awards and accolades for her service. She was an alumnus of the Mack school of nursing in St. Catharines. Norine retired from nursing at the Dunnville Hospital in 1988. She married Pete July 8th, 1967 and together they ran the Souter family farm. Norine was a member of Bethany United Church at Attercliffe and was Chair of Council for many years. Family and neighbours were an integral part of her life and her unwavering devotion to others was commendable. She was steadfast in her fair attention to all. Norine will be greatly missed and remembered by all those whose lives she has touched. Family and friends were received at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Monday, July 8th and the funeral service to honour Norine’s life took place at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 9th at 10:00 a.m. Interment followed at Maple Lawn Cemetery. The family sends thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Welland Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion given to Norine. April 15, 1938 – July 3, 2024 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Farmer on July 3, 2024. Loving mother of Lesley, Terri and Rick, Mike and Roxanne, Peggy, Jo and Frank. Grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Sister of Flora, Bob and Rusty. Best friend of Bonnie White. January 11, 1968 – July 2, 2024 After a short illness and entering the embrace of Ryan in Heaven, Mike, peacefully passed away at Stedman Community Hospice on July 2, 2024. He is survived by Lisa, his daughter Megan, and remembered by his late son Ryan (2021). Mike was a brother to Sharon (Jay), Maryann (Dan), and was preceded in death by his parents, Casey and Gerry. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews and many fur babies. Visitation will be held at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Peacefully at Grandview Lodge, Dunnville at the remarkable age of 106. She quietly left us. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Edward ‘Ted’ Montague (2013) and son Charles Montague (2020). Loving mother of Margaret (†Gerry), Jayne (Ron), Mary and Judy (Roger). Proud grandmother of Tye, Andrea, Carley, Adele, Dylan and Kiersten. Predceased by her siblings Joseph, Eddie (Madeline), Monica Montague (Leo), Jack (Marie) Paul (Germaine). Sister-in-law of the late Helen (Walt) McInally. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Frances graduated from the St. Joseph’s school of nursing in 1941, was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for 72 years and a volunteer at the Hagersville Hospital Axillary. The family wishes to thank Grandview Lodge, Hillview for the wonderful care mom received during her stay, the staff at Leisure Living where mom lived for 4.5 years and Dr. Mark Miller for his excellent care over the years. It is with heavy hearts that the family of ‘Trudy’ Gertrude Elsie Williamson (nee Nixon) announces her passing on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Hamilton General Hospital in her 65th year. Left to mourn the loss of Trudy is her husband and best friend Ronald Williamson, children Lacie (Richard Bigelow), Haley (Michael Nemcko) and her grandchildren Mikayla, Aiden, Abby and Sophie. Trudy will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Butch and Judy Nixon, Chris and Wendy Nixon, Melanie Stirtzinger, Glen and Paula Nixon and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Trudy is predeceased by her parents Alton and Ethel Nixon (nee Young), and siblings Carol Vine, Lynn Young and David Nixon. Trudy loved her family; watching them thrive like the flowers in her garden was truly her life’s accomplishment.
