To the Editors,
It would be glib to say that Mr. Bradbury of 3D Printing and Manufacturing unintentionally proved the phrase “no good deed goes unpunished”, if his treatment by government minions was not so egregious.
Anyone reading Mike Renzella’s front page story in last week’s Haldimand Press will share feelings of disappointment and disgust: disappointment at government bureaucratic ineptitude and indifference, and disgust at how Mr. Bradbury was treated. However, I will add that I am not surprised.
From the outset, our provincial government’s response has been in disarray. Instead of being able to reference a strategic plan, founded on lessons learned from the deadly SARS outbreak in 2003, our government’s response was to pay millions of dollars to a US consulting firm to develop a command and communication structure run by political staff at Queen’s Park – not unlike putting the lunatics in charge of the asylum.
