SOUTH CAYUGA—It is now bazaar time for many churches, and South Cayuga Community Church busily entertained customers at its Fall Bazaar on Saturday, November 5 – a first since 2019.
Organized by our Fundraising Committee and with an enticing selection of goods, over 100 excited customers came through the doors to buy various items from the selections offered. We had a huge display of gently used jewellery. A wonderful assortment of baked goods, including many mincemeat tarts, pies, muffins, and loaves of quick bread. Also some apple sauce, apple crisp and crumble, as well as cherry cheese cake and boxes galore of cookies for Christmas – or just for eating! For those with a sweet tooth, there was a table of candy and snack treats, plus dog treats too!
Also displayed were quilts, baby quilts, Afghans, hand towels with crocheted hangers to attach to your fridge or stove handle, dish cloths and scrubbies, as well as other sewn articles such as adult bibs, fidget cloths, and stroller blankets.
Rather unique items were various knick knacks fashioned into pin cushions. Also some small size picture frames of scenes crafted from tiny shells were just as unique. Knitted mittens, socks, and toques were available too.
In the craft section were greeting cards, wood creations, and games, plus Christmas lighted glass blocks and small stocking stuffers on display as well.
Very gently used puzzles were popular items, with few unsold.
The preserves department displayed jars of hot dog relish, chili sauce, sweet pepper jelly, horse radish, and homemade baked beans, as well as strawberry jam. And last, but not least, there was something for everyone in the miscellaneous department.
A draw for two different baskets of goods was available to win for a donation to print your name on a ticket. While friends visited together, coffee, tea, and assorted varieties of mini-muffins were offered to tempt the palate.
By most reports all who visited our bazaar enjoyed it.
All the funds raised will be put towards new audio/visual equipment.
