
CELEBRATION OF LIFE – In Memory of Brian Jackson

Following the announcement of Brian Jackson’s passing on May 15 this year, his family extends an invitation: Celebration of Life Saturday, August 26. Royal Canadian Legion – Hagersville Anytime between 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Light lunch and a special presentation at 2:30 p.m. Everyone welcome. Surrounded by the love of his family, Brian passed away at the age of 71. Life partner of 51 years to Karin Jackson, father to his sons Ryan (Paula Hearn) and Curtis (Shivaan Burke), ‘Gramps’ to Josie Jackson-Burke, son of Iris and Clarence, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He led a rich life filled with passions for cooking, classic cars, carpentry, fishing, the Leafs, the Jays, tennis, family and more. May 26th would have marked 20 years since Brian began his second career at Heaslip Ford, after retiring from a 30 year career at Stelco Steel. He was well loved and respected by his work families. The courage, humour and kindness Brian showed throughout his life, to the end, continue to inspire. He is deeply missed.

Beloved mother of Claude (Shirley), the late Jake (Margaret), the late Harry (Beverly), Joe (Ann), John (Pat), Ed (Carolyn), Menno (Kathy) and Rob (Steve). Loving Beppe of 31 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by daughters Barbara and MaryAnn and grandchildren Michael and Sherry. MURPHY, Marilyn Anne (née Perkes)

April 26, 1941 – June 18, 2023 Marilyn Anne Murphy, a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, teacher, mentor, and friend passed away with peace on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the age of 82. Forever a teacher, Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of love, life lessons, and cherished stories. Marilyn treasured deep connections with her family, nurturing these bonds over her full life. Marilyn was a devoted wife to her late husband, Wayne, and loving mother to her children, Scott (Carrie), and Melanie (Riyaz) and an adoring Nana to Sarah, Leigh, and Jasmine. She was dear eldest sister to the late Dave (Lynda) Perkes, the late Ruth (Jim) Hagey, Tom (Lori) Perkes and the late Judy Perkes (John Lech). Marilyn’s vibrant spirit will be missed by her aunt, Florence (the late Tom Perkes) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Melburn “Bus” and Ethel “Jo” Perkes. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring team at Trinity Village Care Centre in Kitchener. Their compassionate care and the lively stories they shared about Marilyn, are deeply appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2 p.m., St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Cayuga. A reception will be held afterward to honour Marilyn’s life and legacy. For those able to attend the service, please wear colour in honour of the vibrant way Marilyn lived her life.The family kindly requests that donations be made to the Outdoor and Therapeutic Gardens fund at Trinity Village Care Centre, Kitchener. Remembered for her holiday feasts, involvement in the community, and caring spirit, Marilyn’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Suddenly, as the result of complications from a fractured ankle, Wray’s life ended too soon on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in his 49th year. Wray was the loving son of Nancy Stallwood (Larry, 2008) and special friend of Marv Bartlett. Sister and best friend of Lori Mehlenbacher (Rob). Wray is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dear friends at N.A.C.L. in Simcoe. Friends are invited to call at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10 – 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11 am. Private burial of Wray’s ashes will follow at a later date. Wray will be laid to rest at Knox Presbyterian Cemetery in Jarvis beside his father. He was employed at Battlefield International Inc. and will be missed by co-workers, and also by his pets Max, Blitz, and Cadbury. 1935 – 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Ann Cronk on June 28, 2023, at the Grandview Lodge in Dunnville, Ontario. She was 88 years old. Barbara’s journey was intertwined with that of her beloved husband, Donald Sidney Cronk, until his passing in 2005. Together, they built a beautiful life, creating a strong foundation of love and commitment that will forever be cherished. Barbara was a kind and loving mother to her children, Debbie (Mike), Rudy (Sharon), Kyle (Isabel), and Darrin (Georgia). She was a devoted sister to Honey (Barry) and Donna (Frank). Barbara’s grandchildren, Charity, Bucky, Josh, Brittany, Zak, Caleb, Zoey, Ayrie-Anna, and Savanna brought immense joy to her life, and she showered them with care and support. She also held a special place in the hearts of her great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her siblings Florence, Albert, Marguerite, Kenneth, Corrie, Betty, and Catherine, and her sister-in-law Jean. Barbara had a creative spirit and enjoyed gardening as well as indulging in various crafts, like painting and ceramics. Her faith played a central role in her life, and she found strength and comfort as an active and devoted member of her church community. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Grandview Lodge for the exceptional care and support they provided to Barbara during the past few years. Their kindness and compassion will always be remembered. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in Barbara’s memory. Denis Morissette of Townsend, formerly of St. Catharines, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in his 88th year, at Gardenview LTC, Parkview Meadows,Townsend. Husband of the late Celine Morissette (nee Poirier). Loving father of Danielle and Steve Elliott, the late Richard (2017), Joanne and Chris Streutker and the late Lisa Morissette (2018). Dear grandfather of Ryan and (Shari) Streutker, Jeff and (Shylah) Streutker, Colin (Nikki) Streutker, Jessica and (Chris) Block, Melissa and (Shane) Lecates, Chantelle Moses, Chris Moses, and great grandfather of Josh, Kate, Anna, Jess, Wesley, Macie, Ariella, Emma and Jillian. Brother of Pierrette (Lucien) Richard and predeceased by his siblings Jean-Paul, Cécile, Mariette, Marcel, Jeannette, Roger and Jean-Claude. Denis was a pipefitting contractor in Local 628 of Thunder Bay and later owned a Motel Business. He took pride in his work and was a hard worker. Peggy passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, on Friday, June 30, 2023. Born on November 18, 1945, Margaret Rose Martin (née Hamilton) of Owen Sound, was in her 78th year. Loving mother of Carol, David and Rhonda. Proud grandmother of Greg, Stevie (Shaune), Kyle (Nikki) and great-grandmother of Easton, Lathan and Oliver. Dear sister of Danny Hamilton and sister-in-law of Mark Marsden. Peggy will be missed by her family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Darrell and Margaret Hamilton (née Farnham), her life partner, Vaughn Baird, her sister, Anita Marsden and her former husband, Paul Martin.
