Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024 in the ExtendiCare Unit, Welland Hospital. Born December 3, 1930, to Sammie and Alice Jackson in Greer, South Carolina. At 17 years, wanting to see “big water” and the world, he joined the U.S. Navy and spent 20 years on 11 different ships circling the world in more peaceful times. Upon retirement from the service, he married Beverly, his wife of 55 years, and moved to Dunnville. He was the manager of Howard Motors (Car Sales and Service) for 25 years. After retiring again, as well as travel about the U.S. and Canada, he enjoyed almost daily coffee and conversation with his buddies at local coffee shops or watching the peace and beauty of the Grand River. He is survived by his wife, his two children Jeff and Victoria (Mike Bucsis), his grandchildren Nathan and Violet, and sisters Gaynell and Jeanette in South Carolina. He was predeceased by his brothers Doug, Edward, Joe and Fred. Visitation will be held at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad St E, Dunnville on Thursday, March 21, 2024, 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Private interment at Pleasantview Gardens, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Dunnville Health Centre Volunteer Association (DHCVA) Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice. POWELL, Edward Wayne “Ted”

Peacefully at the John Noble Home, Brantford on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Donna Powell for over 60 years. Loving father to Kaye (Ronald) Royer. Cherished grandfather of James Royer. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Verla Powell. Ted was born in Cayuga, lived there his entire life and was honoured to serve as mayor in the 1960s. Family and friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home – 495 Park Rd North, Brantford on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11 a.m.  Cremation to follow. LINT, William ‘Bill’ Davidson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, brother, uncle, father and friend William “Bill” Davidson Lint on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the age of 66. Born January 22, 1958 in Hagersville and raised on the family farm in Cheapside. Bill stuck to his roots and enjoyed gardening every summer. He had a love of all music, and he will always be remembered for his beautiful tenor in all the church choirs. He was an avid reader and had enough knowledge to outsmart any Jeopardy candidate.  He was a pit master and gourmet chef. We are proud of his many accomplishments. William will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Lori-Ann Lint (nee Greene); children, Lori-Beth Wilson (nee Lint) and Jeremy Lint; siblings, Janet Ryan and Donna Marfisi; nieces and nephews, in laws as well as by many of his friends and coworkers. William was predeceased by his parents, Betty and Hubert Lint and his sister Martha Rybiak.  There is no funeral service planned at this time, but a celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in William’s honour.

May 7, 1958 – January 29, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dezi Anthony Krajcir on January 29th, 2024 at the Royal Victorian Hospital in Barrie,ON. Dezi is survived by his wife Carol of 40 years, mother Beatrice, daughter Michelle (Mark) and sons, Dezi Jr (Amanda) and Brett. Loving Grandpa to Jordan, Massin, Solomon, Sophia, Amelia and Dezi James. Also survived by his older brothers, Edward (Scarlett), Alan (Dianne) and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his father, Dezider Krajcir (Jan 22 1997). Dezi will be remembered for his strong desire to put full effort in everything he did, an important trait he proudly instilled in his children and grandchildren.  This was evident in all that he accomplished during his life, from loving and providing for his family to the many successful business endeavors, several patents and his passion for sports. Dezi spent 45 years as the President of Tatra Safety Boot and Shoes, and following his retirement, he opened and operated Jet -Ski Floating Docks. Dezi had a love for sports, in particular hockey and fishing. He loved to coach and share his knowledge and expertise. Dezi was a unique man as he wanted and encouraged the same successes for others that he knew and was always able to see the best in people.  We are grateful he was able to share his passions and knowledge with his children and grandchildren. Dezi’s legacy will live on in Madawaska, where he spent many years enjoying his family and the great outdoors. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to send a very special thank you for all the love and support provided from Edward and Scarlet Krajcir during this very difficult time. Passed peacefully on Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at home in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Rudi for 66 years. Loving mother of Steve Horvat (Cheryl) and Stefanie Ullhorn (Dave). Grandmother of Amanda (Dillon), Chris (Nellie), Johnathon (Victoria) and Justin (Kaitlin). Proud great-grandmother of Lyla, Sierra, Amelia, Declan and Blake. Mary will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She enjoyed spending time in her blooming gardens and will be forever in our hearts. Friends will be received on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. (with parish prayers at 6 p.m.) at the MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 28 Caithness Street East, Caledonia.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 15 Ottawa Street South, Cayuga with burial immediately following at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Cayuga. Nicholson, BettyAnn (nee Coate)

A resident of Duart, ON. BettyAnn passed away at the Four Counties Hospital in Newbury on March 5, 2024 at the age of 81. Born in Hagersville to Henry and Doris (Bagley) Coate. Beloved wife of 41 years to Jack Nicholson (d. Dec. 23, 2022). Will be sadly missed by brother Henry “Butch” & Cheryl Coate and sister Linda & Dan Nother as well as several nieces and nephews. BettyAnn was an avid gardener, dutifully tending her many gardens; lilacs being her flower of choice and yellow being her favourite colour. She enjoyed going for rides with Jack in their 1963 Ford Fairlane when Jack was home from being on the road as a truck driver. In keeping with BettyAnn’s wishes cremation has taken place. February 13, 1924 – March 07, 2024 With great sadness we say goodbye to our Mother, Nonna, Great-Gramma, Zia, Sister and friend Rosa (Ginevro) Zante. January 13, 1941 ~ March 7, 2024 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Stewart formerly of Decewsville. Loving father of Terry and Yvonne, Todd and Anne and Danny and Sheila. Proud and loving grandfather of Shawn, Shane and Melissa, Sara and Shane, Andrew and Brad, Katie, Amanda and Justin, Cristina and Brook Papoutsis and fifteen Great-Grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife Joan Strohm and by his second wife Cathie Kett. He will be sadly missed by his brother Harold (Donna), sister Elsie Ludlow (Wilbert) and brother Albert (Linda). Predeceased by his sister Rhena Nagel and brother Bruce. Don retired from Stelco Lake Erie Works after many years of service. Passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Thursday, February 29, 2024 with partner in life Mary Dillon at his side. Predeceased by his parents James and Gladys and his younger brother Jim. Will be sadly missed by his sister, Margaret Marshall (late Joseph), and many friends, neighbours, and extended family. Neil farmed for many years with his sister in the Jarvis/Port Dover area up until the family farm was sold. He also worked off the farm on the construction of the Big 3 in Nanticoke – Ontario Hydro, Texaco (Esso), and Stelco LEW – retiring from Stelco after 28 years. Away from work, standardbred horse racing was a big interest but fishing was his favourite sport.  His fishing lure collection was extensive as anyone who knew him could attest to. In keeping with Neil’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place with internment at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Thompson Waters Funeral Home 519-583-1530.
