Passed away on December 22, 2023 at The Village of Wentworth Heights in her 98th year. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne Parke, her daughter Joyce (Garbe), brother Darcy Bush, sister Evelyn (Bush) Smith, brother-in-law Lloyd Smith, brother-in-law Stanley Parke, sister-in-law Elsie (Rumbles) and sister-in-law Charlotte (Parke) Hoover. Survived by her sons Jim (Valerie), Allan (Cindi), son-in-law Lee Garbe, sister-in-law Catherine Bush, brother-in-law Robert Hoover, grandchildren Michelle (Andrew) Garbe Harriman, Alicia (Anderson) Garbe Suarez, Cody (Deniz Ayman) Garbe, Emily Garbe, Fraser Parke, Fiona (Cory Hooper) Parke, Elliott (Emilia) Parke, Claire Parke and great grandsons Hudson, Nolan and Aiden Harriman, Marcus and Wesley Suarez, Logan and Isaac Parke. Helen was born and raised in Stormont County and moved to Hamilton in the early 1950’s to teach elementary school. There she met Lorne, a resident of Haldimand County. After marrying in 1954 they operated a Holstein dairy farm at Caledonia for many years. After retiring from the farm, they lived in Caledonia where they enjoyed time with family and friends, community activities and as long-time members of Grace United Church and Unity Church. Special thanks to the entire team at the Village of Wentworth Heights, Hamilton where Helen resided for the past six years, for their incredible love and care. A celebration of life service will be held at Grace United Church, 174 Caithness St. E. Caledonia on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace United Church, Caledonia, Haldimand Norfolk Community Senior Support Services Inc. or the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice.

With great sadness we announce the passing of Nancy, on December 16, 2023, in her 73rd year. Reunited with her beloved husband of 43 years, Frank. A proud mother to Lori and Dale & Tanner Bullock, and an adored grandma of Daxson, Taya, and Nash. Predeceased by her parents Russel and Mary (James) Hewson. A loved sister of James & Ruth Hewson; Lorraine & Fred Montague; Glen & Heather Hewson. Dear sister-in-law of Sherill & late Andre VandenBussche; Henri VandenBussche; Mary & Walter Schaeffer; Diana & Glenn Code; Linda & late Elwood Mattice. Nancy will be fondly remembered by her aunt, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. As a nurse of 42 years, Nancy enjoyed an accomplished career where her compassion touched countless lives at the Hamilton General Hospital, Henderson Hospital, and Canadian Blood Services. Nancy cherished her time up north with family making lasting memories by the lake. In honour of her wishes, a private family celebration will be held. Brother of the late Emidio Conte (Chiara), the late Giovanni Conte (Lucia), the late Angiolina Menna (Emidio), the late Antonio Conte, and Assunta D’Alimonte (late Rocco). It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Dick at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 27, 2023 in her eightieth year. She is predeceased by her parents, Katherine and Dietrich Dick and her older brother, William (Bill). She will be lovingly remembered by her many cousins, their families and her uncle, Frank Wiens. She had many good friends and Linda requested that Janet Winger, Margaret Youngblut and Erika Isaac, be especially mentioned for their kindness and friendship, supporting her as she faced declining health. Linda spent her life in Dunnville, always living close to the beautiful Grand River. Her long and successful nursing career was spent at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville. In those 32 years she was a compassionate, caring night nurse. She was an encouragement and example to other staff and deepened her own professional development by taking special courses. In her retirement, she travelled and devoted herself to the care of her beloved mother. She also volunteered in her church community and hospital for twenty years, giving freely of her time and resources. Linda was sustained by a deep and vibrant Christian faith and we will miss her loving, thoughtful spirit. Thank you to the nurses and doctors at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital who guided and supported her. It was important to her that she spend her final days in Dunnville, lovingly cared for by former colleagues and visited by friends and family. Linda found a caring church family at Wainfleet Be in Christ Church, where she served and worshipped. Their prayer support was greatly appreciated by her. Thank you also to Pastors Renee and Trevor for their unwavering care of Linda’s spiritual needs. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Wainfleet BIC Church. This celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 6 at 11am with interment of ashes to follow at Maplelawn Cemetery. 1933 – 2023 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Beverly Joan Jillard on December 14, 2023 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her loving husband Ron, son Ronald, infant daughter Debbie and 3 siblings. Loving Mother to Nancy Sealey (John), Karen Wilson (Wally) and David Jillard (Linda). Grandmother to 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great grandchildren. Survived by her loving sister Gladys and many nieces and nephews. Beverly, a long-term resident of Caledonia will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Beverly was passionate about her family, friends, cooking, dogs and she loved to dance and socialize. The family would like to thank the staff of Rvilla Retirement, Caledonia and Regina Gardens Long Term Care, Hamilton for the excellent care and compassion they provided to Mom over the past 3 years. May 4th, 1963, to December 10th, 2023 With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Dave at NHS St. Catharines with his family at his side. David will be forever missed by his wife Joanne of 36 years, his sons Andrew (Paloma) and Nicholas (Nicole), his brothers Augie (Patsy), George (Shirley) and Gary (Andrea), his brother-in-law Brian (Laura), his father-in-law Jim McGuire, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Gordon (2014) and Agnes (2006), his mother-in-law Shirley McGuire (2023), his sister Teresa (2018) and brother-in-law Rick Richman (2023). David was proud to be a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer for 35 years, working in Tatamagouche Nova Scotia, Ottawa, Pearson Airport, and Niagara Falls. His career included four years with the RCMP Musical Ride and finished in the Marine Security Operations Centre (MSOC). David was a devoted husband and proud father who loved history, travel, golf and spending time at his cottage with family and friends. He will be forever missed by many friends and colleagues who were fortunate to be a part of his memorable life. David and his family were especially grateful for the number of visitors, messages, and words of support he received at home and while in hospital. March 18, 1944 – December 14, 2023 Beloved husband of Brenda (Slack) McWilliams. Loving father of Linda Atkinson (Rod), Kevin, Norman, and Nancy McWilliams (Teddy). Dear Grandpa/Papa of Harley-Lynn, Joel, and Mason. Son of the late John and LaVera McWilliams. Brother of Marjorie Ashbaugh (Grant), John (late Ruth), Neil (Laura), Gord (Sandy) (both deceased), Bill (deceased) (Ruby), Betty Timson (deceased) (Bill). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jim retired from Stelco after 30 years and was a Camera Operator for Flamboro Downs for Horse Racing. He coached hockey, baseball, and ringette; was a Cubs and Scouts leader; member of the Caledonia Fair Board, was a judge for harness horse racing at fall fairs; and he loved camping and travelling with family.
