Peacefully, at the Norfolk General Hospital, in her 67th year, after a long battle with her health. She was called home by God and now rests peacefully. She fought right to the end, with the love and support of her family surrounding her. Her sweet, kind, silly, and loving soul will be greatly missed by her husband of nearly 46 years, Mark; her children, Alesia, Matthew (Amber), Marina (Olivia); Nonna to Tiernan and Amielia. She will also be greatly missed by her parents, Ron and Merilieu Heastont; her brother, Stan (Tammy); her sister, Sue (Rick); along with her nieces, Rebecca (Craig), Emmi (Ryan); and nephews, Kyle (Danielle), Alex, Blake; many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Diane, who never left her side. Predeceased by father-in-law and mother-in-law and brother-in-law and sister-in-law and many aunts and uncles. Jaci’s family was her world! Mark and she coached soccer and hockey together during the years their youngest, Marina, played. Some may have known her as “Brown Owl” through her years of guiding. Jaci could be found spending her free time camping, horseback riding in her younger years, fishing, hunting, boating, and anything that got her outside enjoying nature, the warmth of the sun, and her family’s smiles. Oh, and if you caught her in just the right mood, she would absolutely be sticking her tongue out at you. We will love you forever!
A huge thank you to the staff at Norfolk General Hospital in the ER, ICU, and 4th Floor, along with the kitchen staff, for making our experience as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be given to the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation or the Ontario Paramedic Association in memory of our mom.
